The two school buildings Sorimã (preschool to grade 3) and Araújo (grade 4 to college) are located in the Barrinha district of Barra da Tijuca, a growing part of the city of Rio de Janeiro. The ESB is located right next to the national park Floresta da Tijuca, the largest national park in a city worldwide. This provides a very calm and healthy learning environment for our students.
The Araújo building has been renovated with contemporary furnishings, fixtures and fittings. In addition to the well-equipped classrooms, we also have a range of special-purpose rooms such as an art studio, a well-stocked library, a science laboratory and a computer lab, where even our preschool students can sharpen their skills.
The preschool and primary classrooms are located in the brand new Sorimã building, right next to the Tijuca national park, in a very green residential area. The rooms are bright with a nice view to the trees in the park, which makes for a very good learning environment.
Our day-school structure means that our large cafeteria and snack kiosk are a key part of school life.
At the edge of the atlantic forest, there is a playground where younger children can climb, play balancing games, or use the slide and swings. The older students at Araújo can often be found playing table tennis, football or basketball.
At our day school, students are supervised from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exact teaching and supervision times vary between the different levels.
Our office hours are from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
The school adheres to the official school holiday calendar, respecting all the requirements of the national authorities.
