Anderson Vidal, Principal
Anderson Vidal nasceu no Rio de Janeiro e trabalhou por 16 anos na ESB Rio de Janeiro. Durante esse período, atuou como professor e, posteriormente, assumiu a coordenação do ensino infantil e fundamental. Foi responsável pela implementação do Primary Years Programme (PYP) do International Baccalaureate (IB) na Escola. Em 2018, assumiu a diretoria da SIS Brasília.
Anderson também é o responsável pela equipe oficial de credenciamento e auditoria do IB no Brasil.
Anderson estudou línguas modernas na Universidade de Sorbonne, possui bacharelado e licenciatura em letras Português / Francês pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Mestrado em linguística aplicada pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro e pós-graduação em gestão escolar e coordenação pedagógica.
Hayley Waghorn , Primary Years Programme Coordinator
Hayley Waghorn is from Brisbane, Australia, where she began her career in education. She graduated her Bachelor of Education (Primary) from Queensland University of Technology and soon after completed a Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Hayley has been teaching at SIS Brasilia since 2013 and in 2018, took on the additional role of Primary Years Programme (PYP) coordinator. Before coming to SIS she has had experience teaching kindergarten and primary students in Australia and South Korea. She is a strong believer in the philosophy of the International Baccalaureate (IB) and is dedicated to providing quality international education to our students.
Mikke Marttinen, Middle Years Programme Coordinator
Mikke Marttinen is a veteran teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience who began his teaching career in Montgomery County Public Schools in the United States. He is currently the English Language and Literature Teacher and Middle Year Programme (MYP) Coordinator at SIS Brasilia. Mikke earned his Master’s of Arts in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he majored in English. Mikke’s high school English teacher inspired him to enter the teaching profession, and he hopes to serve as the same inspiration for his students. When he is not in the classroom, Mikke enjoys participating in a variety of sports and physical activities, and is an avid lover of pop music and film.
