Throughout the secondary school, our students bring the energy and vivacity of their adolescent years together with their permanent critical view, which perfectly complements our aim of providing excellence in the teaching process and a learning experience that will stay with them throughout their lives.
Meanwhile, students undergo a series of international certification tests, particularly in languages, so they become familiar with the models of the exams and simulate the environment and time constraints of sitting for these types of tests. Just as important is the opportunity to be involved with community service programmes, acting as the mentors of several projects that will impact their immediate surroundings.
Portuguese and English, German or French are equally important, both as languages of instruction and in other parts of day-to-day school life. Great care is taken that our students learn important specialist vocabulary in the languages of instruction.
In addition to gaining the ability to participate in multilingual classes in a natural way, our students acquire solid and hands-on computer skills as well. They also enjoy a general education that is both broad and deep.
Transfer to College
During the last year of the secondary school, the students start a deeper and more focused preparation for the new challenges they will face at college.
Last but not least comes the personal project: students develop an entire project on their own, putting into practice a number of skills acquired throughout their secondary school years. These skills involve time management, planning, thinking and transfer of learning, to name a few. With all this preparation in place, our students are ready to successfully create their own destinies.
SIS Secondary School students whose performance meets the necessary requirements can transfer to our College without needing to sit admission examinations.
